Basketball is Amazing

Author's note: I really like playing basketball and I wonder how it is to be a basketball.

“There is a big game going on in one hour, and you better pick the best basketball.” Said the Pewaukee basketball coach. I was laying on the top, and someone just pumped me up. I wanted them to take me so that I wouldn’t be by all the other dusty balls.
“I think this one is good it has good grip on it,” said the referee. Of course they picked me, because normally they use me because I am the good luck for the team. They picked me up from the cold, metal basket away from all the others and they put me on top of the announcers table.
I could hear a ton of footsteps as people were walking in, that meant that they were going to start the game soon.
“How do I turn this scoreboard on?” The man said while he started to move me aside from the table. Another man started to walk over to the table to do the scoreboard. Next thing I knew the scoreboard made a really loud noise and I knew that the game was going to start. Apparently I slept through the whole warm-up, and then the referee grabbed me and started to pound me against the floor. It tickles when they dribble me against the floor. The best part I have to say is when he throws me up in the air, which they are going to now.
The home team just got the ball from the tip, and the keep passing it. Everyone’s hands are starting to get sweaty, and they are getting dirt all over my nice brown leather. I wanted Pewaukee to win and they just finished the 1st quarter it was 10-9 Pewaukee was up. Now the start of the second quarter was coming so the referee blew his whistle and of course he was holding me it was as loud as sitting on a plane right next to a new born baby. Anyways the other team just started with the ball, and he was dribbling down the court and someone stopped him I ended up flying into the wall it hurt so bad I thought I might just try not to pay attention anymore.
Whoa, I was zoned out the whole entire 2nd, 3rd and already half of the 4th quarter but now I have a really bad head ache because people have been throwing me up like I was some volley ball. Although the good thing is we are winning, the score is already 71-68. It is Pewaukee’s ball right now, and the point guard keeps calling out some play called Pirates. The play is just the pass to the corner and then someone screens for someone and then someone gets open right on the block, it works every time. Even though this time it worked right away, and now the score is 73-68. Now there is only 3 minutes on the scoreboard, and the New Berlin West point guard is getting angry, I can smell and the nasty sweat, and he is pounded me against the ground it feels like someone keeps slapping you.
‘Run, Lion everyone” yells the point guard and as I heard the coach yell the same besides he was a lot louder and you could tell that he was more irritated about what was going on then the players. Eventually when they started the play you could tell that Pewaukee knew what they were running, but right after the point guard turned to look at the post he realized it wasn’t open so he dribbled me in and I could hear their crowd yell that they had one of their player’s wide open ready to shoot a three and oh course he has good form because he always makes me go right through the net, and this time they passed it right to the best shooter and his finger perfectly pointed to the basket. Next thing I was up in the air and I touched the back of the rim, which kind of hurt because I hit my face right to it. It wasn’t long though, and now there was only 30 seconds left 71 to 73 and all the Pirates have to do is get me up the court and hold it.
“Get up there!” Yelled the coach from the other team. They were trying to press us, and I really want people to win. Finally the referee handed me over to one of the Pewaukee people and then you could see everyone breaking to get ready for me to go in bounds and then I saw the Pewaukee point guard wide open. After that I realized that I was floating up in the air, and then I got into soft hands of the point guard it just then he turned and passed it too another person. That just wasted 7 seconds off the clock and now there is only 23 seconds left, and once the guy that just got the pass from went in right in for a lay-up and the score was then 75-71 there was then 15 seconds left and New Berlin West had the ball, but they probably won’t get it up the floor because Pewaukee is pressing. Anyways they got open and next thing I knew again was I was flying up in the air I look at the scoreboard and the buzzer was about to beep.
“Eeeeernt,” goes the scoreboard, which means that Pewaukee won nationals successfully. That was one of the best games that I have ever played in my life.
